STEPS" MAKEOVER" FOR A FABULOUS FAYETTEVILLE FAMILY

 Sometimes brick steps sink a little,,,, Mortar erodes.. and YES... a total tearout and " re-do " is required.. but then there are times when a " step - remodel " is all thats required..

heres the before... the top step was TOO high..



. so.. instead of a total tearout and " DO- OVER" I did a " STEP MAKEOVER with variegated flagstone... making sure that the steps were around 7 inches high on each riser


and yes... I replaced  the concrete pad at the base of the steps... a BLESSING to do this repair and step makeover for a Fabulous wonderful Fayette County family !

I Woolsey  - First Pastor of Harmony Grove Baptist Church ( now WOOLSEY BAPTIST CHURCH ) . he was born in 1828 and died in 1902 - today.. many of his descendants are helping to preserve the history of the town named after him. REGROUT and REPAIR BRICK STEPS

                                                        BEFORE- old crumbling , deteriorating mortar-                                                   below- damaged mortar removed with handtools and masonry saw                                      below- after damaged mortar has been removed with saw, hammer, chisel work- new mortar is sponged into the joints- several steps of sponging off and cleaning are required                                               Below- the  FINISHED PRODUCT after cleaning..
